My Blåkläder Pants...After A Few Months Of Wear And Tear

It's been a few months since I last posted about my Blåkläder pants and I thought it was time to give a long term review on them. All and all they are a very good pair of pants. They have stood up to me wearing them to work everyday. Well, everyday since the end of September when the weather started to get colder. They are great for winter wear , but way too hot to wear in warmer weather. I'm glad I got the shorts to go with them.
Now back to the pants , as you can see from the picture the knees have started to get holes , which is not good because it's hard to keep the kneepads in. That isn't too hard to deal with, the bigger problem has to do with the zipper. I over stretched and when I did the zipper separated. I haven't tried to fix this yet, but hopefully it can be fixed easy.

So to sum it up...good pants for winter wear, and very tough for the average worker, I'll be buying another pair when the time comes.

Employment, Unemployment And The Stuff That Goes With It....

Today I had to let an employee go...Let me tell you it was probably the hardest thing I've ever had to do in quite a while. The other time that was worse was the only job interview I ever went too. (got the job) What made it worse was I like him and have known him for years. Not to mention the fact that it's the season for the spending and the buying...The other thing that made it hard, was the fact that he took it so well. Was he expecting it? Did he want it? Did he care?

Let It Snow!!

Well today I'm having a snow day! I worked this morning until it started to snow and then I loaded up the truck, told the guys to stop working and then started home. I'm glad I left when I did because the roads were not the best on the drive home. I can just about imagine what they will be like at rush hour...not fun. The older I get the less I feel like driving during these winter months. 20 years ago I was fearless in the snow...I would go out in the middle of a snowstorm and have fun! Those days are gone...I miss them some days...but that's a part of growing up I guess...anyways if anyone else out there is having snow...enjoy....Spring is just around the corner! I got the image from www.cbc.ca/nb
It's a webcam shot of Saint John Habour taken just a few minutes ago....Nasty out there!

Update...

Hello all...I just wanted to give an update on my progress in regards to the framing. I'm on house number four, a midsize two story. Everything is going great, with no delays or problems...except the wind and the cold! The weather is getting colder by the day. The house is in a little subdivision in Grand Bay-Westfield, which sits high on a hill over looking the beautiful Saint John River, so it gets a bit windy some days and these days windy means extra cold. The plus side to being up high is the view. Grand Bay-Westfield is a quiet little town that is about 15 minutes outside of Saint John NB. Nice little town to work in. Once I get a new camera (the last one died) I'll post some pictures of the house and view...
