Here's a very cool looking house made from shipping containers. Lately I have been very intrigued by these very useful boxes. Check out the full story here... www.azuremagazine.com
We have a neighbour who's planning to live in a container while he renovates his house. It sounds absolutely mad when you first hear of it (and cold!) but now I think he's on to something...
Hi Susan ...Thanks for visiting! I think it a great idea what your neighbor plans, if done right it could be quite cozy...when he does live in it, send along some pictures, I'd love to see how and what he does with it....Mark
I will; we're expecting him sometime this winter. He thought of a container instead of a caravan (my suggestion) because he's moving from overseas: he's purchased the container to move his furniture and boxes, then when it's onsite, he'll unload all that into the garage and convert the container to live in until the house is ready. Then, when he's in the house, the container will become a storage shed. Quite a value for money by the time it's all over!
I've been wanting an office of my own, and now you've got me thinking...
Wow..he certainly will be getting the value out of that container...and yes, storage container and an office...hmmm...now you have me thinking! Let me know how that turns out...
This is one of the cooler designs i have seen as far as the container houses go. I'm also building a house out of shipping containers in austin. Here's a link to the site: Intermodllc.com We'll be posting pictures of the progress in the blog section.
Hey Phil...Thanks for the comment...I checked out your blog, very cool! I will be following the progress of the project, thanks for letting me know about it. Happy Holidays!....Mark...
hi Dina...Thanks for the link...7 out of the 10 people that look at my blog, are looking at the posts about shipping container houses...lots of interest in these types of buildings...
I am building the first 100% recycled shipping container building in NYC, just wondering if you knew any fabricators of containers that I can send my plans to for competitive bids? Thank you for any information you can provide. Sia
